A major international gateway into Utah, the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) enjoys a convenient location just minutes from the city centre, which lies some 5 miles / 8 km to the northwest. Salt Lake City Airport is also close to both Buena Vista and Poplar Grove, and just a short drive from more than ten truly exceptional ski resorts, along with around 50 golf courses, including the airport's very own onsite Wingpointe Golf Course.
Each year, some 22 million arriving and departing passengers are treated to breathtaking views of the nearby snow-capped mountains and surrounding national parks. Facilities are excellent and housed within two terminals, which are split into five main concourse areas and comprise a total of 80 gateways. In recent years, Salt Lake City Airport has become known for its punctuality and boasts some of the fewest flight delays in the whole of America.
Ground transport at Salt Lake City Airport includes Yellow Cabs, Delta Limousines and Utah Transit Authority (UTA) buses, linking the downtown district, which is centered around Temple Square. Nearby, the main districts radiate outwards and include the Avenues, Sugar House and also Capitol Hill, where the magnificent Utah State Capitol Building resides. Also within reach of Salt Lake City Airport is the enormous Great Salt Lake, the Big Cottonwood Canyon and also the Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, where an array of recreational activities await, whatever the season.
